Introducing Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra, a brand-new orchestra that includes everything you need to create fantasy film, television, and game soundtracks. Produced by sound titans Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix, Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra includes unique ensembles of world instruments that have been featured in the biggest movies and games in history,

mixed with modern octave-doubled orchestral sections that perfectly compliment Hollywood Orchestra, all with full stereo imaging mic placement and all the features of EastWest’s revolutionary Opus player.

If you’re scoring the next big fantasy epic or medieval tale, adding in a few period solo instruments won’t cut it — you need to bridge the gap between orchestral and world instruments. Every instrument needs to earn its place in the mix to create a massive cinematic sound, so we created an entirely new orchestra that puts all the period instruments you need on the same stage. It’s simply unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Immerse Your Audience

Hollywood Fantasy Winds offers three moods that range from gentle to roaring, so you can set the perfect sonic atmosphere. Expectedly, the Soft mood is ideal for more quiet and intimate scenes, whereas the Epic mood flaunts a huge cinematic feel. The Classic mood is right in the middle, yielding more of a traditional orchestral sound. (Note: The color of the user interface indicates the currently selected mood.)

Hollywood Fantasy Winds also features four mic positions with level and pan controls. Use Close when you want to hear every instrument (and ensemble) detail; select Mid for a little more definition from the edge of the stage. The Main gives you a large unified sound (complete with Decca tree configuration), and Surround provides a rich and lush sound from the back of the stage.

Irish Whistles

Hollywood Fantasy Winds includes two Irish whistles, pitched low and high. These small yet powerful instruments are capable of incredible expression and have been featured in many fantasy film and game soundtracks, including Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Assassin’s Creed, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Renaissance Flutes

These wooden flutes produce much more mellow and gentle tones than their modern-day cousins, and are immediately evocative of settings such as Renaissance fairs. You’ve heard these sounds used to great effect in soundtracks from Game of Thrones, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Tudors, among others.

Uilleann Pipes

Featured in Titanic, The Last of the Mohicans, and Outlander (among many other soundtracks), Uilleann pipes have a softer and more delicate sound than traditional bagpipes, as well as a wider range. This makes them perfect for lyrical melodies and fantastical flourishes.

Ocarinas

The ocarina’s sweet, pastoral tone makes it an ideal instrument to carry your melodies. You probably recognize this enchanting instrument due to it taking center stage in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Ocarinas have also been featured in Avatar, the Final Fantasy series of games, The Hobbit film trilogy, and The Dark Crystal.
