About the library

Shreddage 3 Fretless perfectly captures the renowned “mwah” sound: an unmistakable mellow tone in which each note blooms and sings. The warm sound of an Ibanez SRF705 is at home in conventional bass lines but also steps up to virtuosic soloing and melodic parts. For this special project, we reached out to the multi-talented George “Norg” Nowik, who collaborated with us to find the perfect sound to shine across genres.

As is the case with all our Shreddage instruments, we meticulously sampled numerous articulations to make a highly playable and realistic instrument, but this time we’re offering some exciting new additions to the library. For the first time, two amped signals are included in addition to DI, so users can get a 100% authentic, pre-sculpted amp tone with no FX required. Tailor your sound by controlling the levels of each of the mics as well as the DI signal in the mix window. Quickly find the tone that fits your production by choosing one of the many presets, covering everything from ambient and reverberant to dirty and overdriven.

Shreddage 3 Fretless also marks the debut of our newly updated Shreddage 3.5 engine, which introduces features that both streamline your workflow and give you the flexibility you need. The GUI has been massively improved for clarity and intuitiveness. Articulations are much easier to adjust and remap with the new TACT 3.0 articulation system, and NKS is now supported for more parameters. The Performance Style drop-down menu provides presets that automatically tweak the instrument to best suit the chosen style. Finally, the brand-new Keyboard Mode lets you play the instrument with all the responsiveness and consistency of a premium workstation keyboard, without sacrificing the amazing tone.

If you’re looking to build a custom tone from the ground up, the Console section gives you everything you need. Create your own signal chain for each of the mics, the DI, and the master channel with a rich array of effects: dynamics, EQs, pedals, reverbs, phasing effects, and others.

About the Performer

Multi-instrumentalist George Nowik’s work as a bassist and arranger can be heard on countless remixes and arrangements of video game music as a member of the video game tribute bands LONELYROLLINGSTARS and THE SMASH BROTHERS as well as in his role as OverClocked Remixer. In addition to his music work, he has developed a career as a voice actor, providing narration for video games as well as medical, corporate, and commercial projects.

Console Modular FX Rack & Mixer

Console is our mixer, modular effects rack, and pedal board, designed to give you full control over your virtual guitar tone. Unlike our previous FX racks, which were limited to a small amount of preset modules, Console gives you 30 effects modules to choose from!

These include multiple EQs (digital and analog-style), compressors, spatial FX, modulation FX, amps, distortion pedals, reverbs, and a selection of over 30 custom cabinet IRs recorded just for Shreddage 3! These cabs cover all the most important sounds you would want, with both dynamic & condenser mics in multiple positions plus a ribbon mic for certain models.

Using Console, you can easily save and load FX chains or presets between projects or even different Shreddage 3 products. It also allows you to mix and blend between guitar pickups, with custom inserts on each if you’d like.

Total Articulation Control Technology (TACT)

Shreddage 3 Fretless includes an updated version of TACT, as introduced in Tokyo Scoring Strings, allowing you to customize how all articulations are mapped and triggered! Everyone has their own preferences for how to perform or write for virtual guitar, and with TACT you can create the perfect setup for your DAW.
